Physician (Community Living Center)
The Marion, Illinois VA Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Physician to join the Extended Care Service.
This position is located in the Community Living Center at Marion, IL.
The Community Living Center is a 54 bed facility focusing on acute rehabilitation care, skilled nursing care and hospice care, for the veterans it serves.
Duties include, but may not be limited to:
Provide guidance and supervision for the resident physicians and medical students assigned to Extended Care Services.
Provide collaboration and supervision for the Mid-level practitioners to include Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners.
Assist in the development and implementation of care programs in Extended Care Services.
Assess Veterans by utilizing advanced clinical judgment and physical assessment skills.
Identify acute/non-acute chronic health problems.
Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests.
Adhere to clinical practice guidelines for patient chronic diseases.
Conduct appropriate preventive screens and diagnostic tests.
Inform Veterans in order to accomplish share-decision making in medical treatment/regimes.
Provide quality patient care to Veterans.
The incumbent will report to the Chief of Extended Care Service.
