Auto Mechanic - Entry Level
Job Description
Kett Engineering is currently accepting applications and prequalifying candidates for an Entry level Automotive Mechanic position for our customer in Maricopa, Arizona. The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for all aspects of disassembling of test vehicles, preparation of vehicles for evaluations and inspections, and assisting in other aspects of vehicle testing. The duties include working with the other members of the department on the following:
o Removal of interior components
o Removal of engine and drive train components
o Preparation of vehicle for outer skin inspection by removing all body plugs, clips, and other components.
o Clean vehicle for evaluation
o Disassemble vehicle components (hood, doors, trunk, etc.)
o Drill out spot welds, cut laser welds and disassemble each individual body panel.
o Must be able to perform heavy lifting and perform work such as tire changes, transmission removal, etc.
o Assemble and store body panels for evaluation
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications for Initial Interview:
o Four (4) years licensed driving experience.
o Must possess driving record(s) from Arizona and/or other state(s) of residence during the previous 36 month period. Driving record can be no more than 15 days old.
o No more than 2 moving violations in a 36-month.
o High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
o Current Arizona Operator's license.
o Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating procedures.
o Must be able to drive a manual as well as an automatic transmission.
o Must be able to lift at least 80 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications for Hiring:
o Must pass an extensive driving test.
o Pass substance abuse screening.
o Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
Compensation:
This is a Full Time position with benefits and paid Holidays after 90 days. Pay is $12/hour.
