Job Title: Summer Day Camp Director

Reports to: Youth Development Director
Status: Full-time/Seasonal
April 15 - August 31
M-F, hours vary, 40
per week

Starting Rate: $10.00
Job
Responsibilities:
Ensure the highest quality camp program.
Develop and supervise camp staff.
Provide accurate, organized record keeping of camp participants and curriculum.
Responsible for camper connection and retention throughout the program.
Responsible for the training and scheduling of camp staff.
Responsible for approval of lesson plans and camp activities.
Responsible for working within the confines of the summer camp budget.
Responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Act as liaison between staff, parents and YMCA Directors.
Experience Preferred (not required):
18 years of age
Childcare experience
Lesson planning
Implementation of Safety Procedures
Written and oral communication skills
Organization skills
Three years Summer Camp experience (at least)
Appropriate education and experience in child care and youth programming
Previous supervisory experience
Certifications:
Working towards Teacher Certification - preferred
CPR/AED (Infant/Child and Adult) certification - required
First Aid certification - required

Training Required:
40 hours training at Y prior to camp
Weekly staff meetings
Other assigned trainings

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
