Student Nurse Technician (SNT)

The Student Nurse Technician (SNT) is currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing recognized by the Veterans Health Administration.
The student has successfully completed one (1) clinical semester in an Associate or Baccalaureate Program.
The SNTs level of practice will be dependent upon clinical skills certified by the School of Nursing.
Assignment will be progressive based on verification of completed clinical skills within the nursing program and/or the clinical experience at the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center.
The population this VA services is primarily male, Caucasian, and an average age of 65 years.
The female veteran population is less than 10%.
The SNT provides direct patient care for acute and long term patients/residents according to established VAMC policies and nursing procedures.
Observes and reports to RN subtle changes in patients/residents' condition, i.
e.
, behavior shifts, mood, skin coloring, appetite, etc.
Documents care given, observations and responses in the electronic medical record and medical center forms as appropriate.
Performs oral suctioning, colostomy care, skin care (including simple dressings), application of braces and prosthetics, monitors intake and output, and performs enemas.
Recognizes the patient's/resident's autonomy and promotes independence by means of respect, limit setting, and individualized treatment.
Participates in the implementation of the care plan developed by the RN and Interdisciplinary Team.
Work Schedule:
The incumbent can work up to full time in the summer and can be intermittent throughout the school year.
Can work shifts if the location of the school is convenient and may work during school breaks.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
