Segway Tour Guide

Segs in the City is looking for outgoing individuals to lead Segway tours in downtown Annapolis. This is a fun job for those that like the outdoors and enjoy meeting new and interesting people. We operate 7 days a week from April through to November.
Position Description: Segway guides are responsible for meeting and greeting customers and presenting accurate and detailed tour information in a professional, entertaining and engaging manner. Guides are provided with tour narrations and encouraged to enhance this information while developing their own individual presentation. Successful completion of our training program, designed to provide the skills necessary to deliver a comprehensive tour and customer segway training, is required.
Position responsibilities include:
Guide customers on established routes featuring the sites of Annapolis
Relate history, anecdotes, and fun facts about the area in an interesting and informative way
Answer questions about the information presented, as well as general questions about Annapolis
Train customers on Segway riding and safety,
Assist customers to check in, and select appropriate safety gear
Aid in opening and/or closing the facility
Ensure segways and ancillary equipment are always clean and maintained
Help with routine cleaning of the facility
Adjust tour route as required to meet varying conditions while always remaining aware of time constraints and company policies
Candidates are required to have:
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills,
The ability to work independently and efficiently, and be self-motivated
The desire to work with the general public and groups
Meet the height and weight restrictions for riding segways
Preferred attributes:
Tour guide, hospitality or acting experience
Love of US history and relating stories of Annapolis
Willing and able to work a combination of weekday, evening or weekend hours and holidays.
Must be reliable and timely
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must demonstrate a professional appearance and behavior at all times
Possess a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification desirable
Language skills desirable
Drivers license desirable

Part time and full time positions available. Compensation is hourly plus tips and commensurate with experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
