Production Supervisor - Second Shift

Schwan Cosmetics USA (Cosmolab, Inc.) is a dynamic organization that seeks to provide world-class cosmetics products to our customers and end users. Cosmolab, Inc. is part of Schwan STABILO Cosmetics which is a full service private label supplier with a strong heritage of developing and introducing innovative, market driven color cosmetics and counts internationally renowned cosmetics companies among its customers. Located in Lewisburg, TN, Cosmolab will be relocating into a newly constructed facility to be located in Murfreesboro, TN in 2015 and merging to become Schwan Cosmetics USA. The candidate will be expected to work in Lewisburg for approximately 1 year and then will move to our new manufacturing facility in Murfreesboro, TN in mid to late 2015.
We currently have an opening for Production Supervisor on our Second Shift. To thrive in this role, you'll need to plan, direct and coordinate the operations and continuous improvement activities of various departments as assigned and be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. You may have experience in a different field other than cosmetics but the successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a batch processing or make-to-order manufacturing environment under pressure, prioritizing, problem solving and getting results.
Key responsibilities involve:
1. Coordinate, supervise and monitor the workings of various departments in production.
2. Measure and communicate operations performance daily and work w/ other departments to improve operational efficiencies.
3. Identify and reduce/eliminate waste in the operations areas by identifying and implementing CI activities. Improve processes and policies in support of departmental goals.
4. Manage the operations of multiple shifts schedules, cascade changes across all shifts, facilitate coordination and communication between support functions and other production departments and shifts.
5. Implement and support departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output and provide a safe environment for our associates and monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
6. Ensure quality of products and manufacturing standards that are compliant with Company's quality management system.
7. Support the needs of line trials, pilot runs and other testing of processing for new product development in the commercialization process. Understand and support sales, client services and marketing activities.
8. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and support operational plans and manage any internal departmental strategic plans.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor Degree in Business related field REQUIRED
Experience Required:
2-5 years of work experience supervising in manufacturing environment required. Prefer candidates with experience in continuous improvement activities and implementation of lean tools such as: SMED, Visual Factory Management, TPM, 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events, etc. Prefer experience in a batch processing or make-to-order manufacturing environment

o Demonstrated teambuilding, leadership skills, leading work groups and drive performance improvements by utilizing lean/CI tools
o Strong reasoning, decision making and problem solving skills
o Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
o Business acumen and professionalism; ability to take responsibility for the facility on your own on this shift
o Experience working in a high-pressure, team environment

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
