Contracts Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY
Assists in the preparation, review, and administration of contractual subcontracts contracts relating to construction projects. Possess expert working knowledge and assessment ability of Government and Commercial Prime Contracts with excellent comprehension of various contract types. Ability to draft, develop and implement subcontract terms and conditions and work statements for commercial Construction projects and assess Government and Prime Contract for appropriate FAR flow-downs for sub tiers. Requires extensive experience in Construction/Service contracting while possessing excellent communication, collaborative and briefing skills. Work to ensure compliance of the contractual obligation and the administration of a commercial contract. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the construction industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft and prepare legal agreements (Subcontracts / Amendments / Change Orders, and analyze and interpret legal documents to determine contractual rights and obligations. (30%)
Compile, monitor and maintain administration of the commercial contract and the associated project files. (35%)
Insurance related administrative tasks including certificate requests, monitoring expiration dates. (15%)
Contract Research. (5%)
Tracking of various governmental tasks, subcontract and change order requests. (10%)
Other administrative tasks as requested by the department, including drafting correspondence, maintaining files. (5%)

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE)
Minimum 4 years experience in Contracts Administration
Preferred
Qualifications: Government / Public Works Construction Contracts Administration background;
Type 50 WPM accurately;
Proficient with computer software programs such as Word, Excel;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, basic business math;
Critical thinking and problem solving abilities;
Handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion;
Organizational skills;
Ability to use standard office equipment such as personal computer, laser printer, copy machine, telephone, calculator, fax machine, etc.
Medium level of problem solving as relates to evaluating legal risk associated with a given situation. Important/high risk decisions always submitted to manager.
Understanding of Government contractual requirements, FAR codes and Flow-downs for sub-tiers.
Ability to provide value added suggestions / guidance to the business stakeholders

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
