What You'll Do
As a Diesel Mechanic with Star Truck Rentals you will
o Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
o Identify warrantable repairs and document repair order
o Maintain work area appearance and safety
o Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
o Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
o Use hand tools such and precision instruments, power tools, welding equipment, jacks and hoists
o Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition
o Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
o Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws and reassemble equipment
o Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
o Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts and pressure gauges
o Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices
o Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
o Repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmission and differentials
o Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
o Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
o Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
o Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
What's Required
Star requires the following of all our Diesel Mechanics.
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel mechanic experience (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational or Technical mechanic certification (preferred)
- Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
- A valid driver's license is required, and, must either possess a CDL or have the ability to obtain a CDL license required
- A positive attitude
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
