Registered Nurse

The Registered nurse is an essential professional member of the health care team.
The Registered nurse successfully integrates the sciences and arts in establishing a systematic plan in caring for patients and their families.
The incumbent promotes and restores patients health by utilizing the nursing process an evidence-based practice tool; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.
Some of the common assigned duties and responsibilities of the registered nurse are assessment of the patient and family needs, formulation of nursing diagnoses based on the patient assessed needs; established goals and plan of care with the patient and family involvement and other team members as appropriate.
The incumbent is responsible for implementation and evaluation of the plan of care.
The registered nurse executes the patient,'s plan of care by administering medication and other treatment regimens, educating patient, family members and assessing resources in the community to assist patient and family upon discharge from acute and residential care settings.
Registered nurses perform a wide variety of job duties, caring for and educating patients about their conditions, as well as establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families.
