Formulation Chemist
Kelly Services is seeking a Formulation Chemist for our client, a global Chemical Company, in Collegeville, PA.
This role is a long term contract opportunity (1 year+), and the pay will be in the range of $20 - $25 / hour depending on experience.
This role will provide technical laboratory support multidisciplinary teams in the development of new products and technical solutions for a wide range of technology areas (e.
g.
, coatings, adhesives, plastics, electronic materials, home and personal care, etc.
).
The Formulation Science organization also develops, implements, and utilizes high throughput methodologies; familiarity with multiple software platforms and automated equipment would be beneficial.
Primary responsibilities will include:
o Providing technical support for multidisciplinary teams for both new product and capability development.
o Materials formulation, processing, handling, analysis/characterization, and testing, and in some cases, materials synthesis may be required.
Executing designed experiments.
o Laboratory equipment set-up/construction, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Equipment and analytical instruments may include ovens, mixers, grinders, extruders, reactors, spectrometers, rheometers, thermal properties and mechanical testing equipment, and others.
Qualifications:
o AS or BS in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other scientific discipline.
Some industry experience desired but not required.
o Candidates should have lab experience with analytical and testing equipment.
Preferred candidates will have additional experience related to materials synthesis, formulation and processing.
