Adult Neurologist in Massachusetts (Physician)
PrimaCARE in Fall River, Massachusetts has an immediate opening for a Board-eligible or Board-certified Adult Neurologist to join an established Neurology Division.
PrimaCARE is a 130
provider multispecialty group in Fall River, Massachusetts. In addition to 50 Primary Care physicians, we represent various medical and surgical specialists. Prima CARE has its own Sleep Lab, Radiology Division, Laboratory, outpatient Endovascular Suite, and Urgent Care Centers.
Our Neurology Division currently consists of 4 physicians (one of whom is leaving) and one Nurse Practitioner seeing inpatients at 2 hospitals and covering a thriving outpatient practice. We see inpatient consultations at both St. Anne's and Charlton Memorial Hospitals in Fall River on a rotating coverage schedule. On-site CT and MRI are available at Prima CARE, as is an IAC-accredited Vascular Laboratory for carotid duplex imaging. Ancillary neurologic services include EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies, so training and experience in these modalities would qualify the successful candidate to perform these as part of his/her practice. Any additional areas of interest or expertise in the field of Neurology would be welcomed and supported by the group.
PrimaCARE is a physician-owned group which is independent of the two hospitals in Fall River where we admit our patients, although we are members of the Steward Health Care network. St. Anne's (our in-Network facility) has approximately 150 beds, a new Prima CARE patient pavilion, and completely renovated Operating Rooms and Emergency Department. TPA administration in Fall River is handled by a separate on-call hospital-based Stroke Team. Neurosurgeons and vascular surgeons are readily-available locally, and a referral network exists for interventional neuroangiography, interventions, and complex cases requiring tertiary, academic-center care.
This is an excellent medical community and PrimaCARE manages approximately 60-70% of the patients in this area, providing an excellent source of referrals for specialists. The salary is competitive and is guaranteed for 2 years. The group is physician-owned, so physicians are eligible for corporate bonuses after 1 year and eligible for partnership after 2-3 years with minimal buy-in. Of course, moving expenses, malpractice and professional expenses, health insurance, vacation, CME expenses, and a 401K are included. PrimaCARE is in a healthy growth phase and is a solid and strong influence in this medical community. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's training, expertise, and skill set.
Fall River is located 20 minutes from Providence, RI, an hour from Boston, and a half-hour from Cape Cod and Newport, RI.
