Food Service Worker

-- Sets up and replenishes cafeteria/serving lines, steam-tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages.
Serves food on tray assembly lines by placing uniform portions on trays/plates according to pre-determined menu guide, meal patterns and food safety standards.
Carries trays to wheelchair patients in dining room; opens milk, ice cream cartons and other food containers for patients needing assistance.
Breaks down and cleans assigned area when the meal is finished and returns foods to the main kitchen for disposal.
Removes soiled dishes from dining room and transports them to dishwashing area; replenishes supply of clean dishes, glassware, and silverware in dining area.
-- Delivers and retrieves meal trays to/from the patients' bedsides or dining/day rooms and to authorized students and guests.
Distributes individual supplemental feedings to designated patients' bedsides or nursing stations; delivers bulk nourishment items and bagged meals to designated areas.
Reports the amounts of meals eaten, patients' comments and complaints and questions from the ward staff to the supervisor.
-- Moves food carts from one area to another by pushing food carts and by operating a motorized off-road vehicle.
Incumbent assures that gas-operated vehicles are operated safely and properly.
Follows operator manual's recommended routine check on vehicle before and after operation including checking gas and fluid levels.
In the event gas-operated carts are not operational, manually pulling carts to outlying buildings will be required.
-- Sets up and operates mechanical dishwasher including soiled tray conveyor and pot washers.
Removes inspection doors, strainer pans, screens and spray arms for preventive maintenance and cleaning.
Operates mechanical waste disposal according to established procedures.
Discards plate waste, paper and other refuse; sets up machine for use, checks and records temperatures, reporting discrepancies immediately to supervisor.
Cleans machine, dish caddies and carts after every use; transfers dish dispensers, silverware, trays, wares and utensils to designated storage/serving areas.
Prepares trash for correct disposal, breaks cardboard cartons, puts broken glass into designated containers for proper disposal and transports covered trash containers to dock and disposes of waste by established procedures.
Transports, scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs the heavier cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots.
-- Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks throughout the food service and related areas, such as cleaning ceilings; cleaning exhaust hoods; cleaning spaces under and behind kitchen equipment, including moving the equipment; sweeping, mopping, washing/stripping floors and cleaning walls with powered cleaning equipment; cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers; and sanitizing work surfaces.
-- Processes and weighs fruits and vegetables for cooking and salad making (wash, peel, dice, and grind) manually or by use of power driven equipment, such as food chopper; prepares toast, bread crumbs, beverage; transports subsistence to and from storage; loads food and delivers to wards and cafeterias.

This position's initial duty station is Biloxi, Mississippi; however the duty station, based upon the needs of the health care system, may require the individual to work from other facilities (e.

, Mobile Outpatient Clinic, Alabama; Eglin Outpatient Clinic, Florida ; Joint Ambulatory Care Center Pensacola , Florida; and Panama City Outpatient Clinics , Florida).

Work Schedule:
Part-time (40 hours per pay period), Sunday through Saturday, 5AM-8PM, Rotating Shifts.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
