Surgical Veterinary Technician
Avets, a 24-hour emergency & specialty referral veterinary hospital located minutes from the PA Turnpike in Monroeville, has openings for full-time Surgical Veterinary Technicians. As a member of the AVETS team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of providing state of the art medicine and compassionate care for pets and the people who love them in Western PA.
This is an entry level position, intended to offer support to the surgical service by assisting in all aspects of patient care, including, but not limited to, receiving patients, patient procedures, surgery prep and clean up, communicating with clients, and assisting with coordination of the surgical schedule.
The position is full-time hourly and includes paid time off and health benefits for full time employees.
Applicant Requirements
Interact with clients in a manner that supports Avets mission statement.
Ensure proper use, handling, and care of hospital equipment.
Assist in all aspects of patient care - receiving patients, surgical procedures, post-operative care
Pursue continuing education, both Avets - provided and independent.
Open scheduling availability per the hospital needs is required for this position.
All technical staff, regardless of the level of experience, must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift (12 hours), and lift a minimum of twenty five pounds.
CVT/LVT or VTS (anesthesia or surgery) or license eligible candidates will be given the highest consideration.
