The Specialty Care Clinics provide direct, client centered care to clients experiencing a wide variety of acute and chronic health care management needs, with an emphasis on those needing interventions and pre/postoperative care.
A full range of coordinated care is provided for patients and their families, utilizing state of the art technologies in patient assessments, interventions/treatments, patient and caregiver education, home care planning, follow-up care, and the prevention of complications.
Care provided is consistent with applicable regulatory and professional standards inclusive of, but not limited to, Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, American Nursing Association, American Association of Ambulatory Care Nursing, American Nurses Association, VHA's Office of Quality and Performance, and National Center for Patient Safety.
Specialty Clinic RNs Familiarity and Expertise in:
Endocrinology Diabetes , Thyroid disease , Androgen excess , Thyroid Function, also hormones and also the psychological or behavioral activities of metabolism , growth and development , tissue function, sleep , digestion , respiration , excretion , mood , stress , movement , reproduction , and sensory perception as caused by hormones.
Other conditions affecting the Endocrine System.
Neurology Stroke , Dementia , Seizures and Epilepsy , Alzheimer's Disease , Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder , Radiculopathy , Neuropathy , Parkinson's Disease, Sleep Disorders, Headaches/Migraines, Vertigo, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Sndrome, Lou Gehrig's Disease, Lupus, Muscular Dystrophy, and other conditions affecting the Nervous System.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
o Position may be subject to random drug testing.
o Employee will be required to work other than normal duty hours, which will include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays (See posted hours on the announcement).
o Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
o Employee must maintain current certifications.
