Maintenance Tech
Our immediate need is for a Maintenance Technician at our plant in Birmingham, AL. This position is assigned to a non-traditional shift and may work a split shift or modified weekend schedule.
Major duties of the position are as follows:
Uses and conducts proper care of PPE
Troubleshoots critical equipment upon failure
Conducts preventative maintenance
Moves and sets up equipment
Interprets diagrams (hydraulic/electrical schematics), operation manuals, and pneumatic systems
Wires equipment and performs electrical drops within a high voltage area
Installs and repairs plumbing
Repairs or corrects safety concerns
Welds, cuts, brazing and soldering as needed
May operate milling machines, drill presses, and lathes
Supports RCI events
Cleans equipment and work areas to enhance housekeeping (5S)
General building maintenance
Uses computer to look up any necessary information required to perform job duties.
Follows established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices
Maintains work area and shop tools/equipment
Maintains daily time records
Other job duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum Requirements of the position are as follows:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
Basic computer usage knowledge required.
Demonstrated ability in the operation of CNC equipment and other specialized equipment
Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or other similar field or 5 years Industrial Electrical/Electronic experience desired.
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics desired
Mechanical background to include troubleshooting skills desired
Knowledge of PLC's and Motor Controls desired
Electrical knowledge in industrial/commercial environments, including 480 volt 3 phase and multi-meter usage
Journeyman electrician experience is preferred.
