POSITION
Summary:

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for providing robust designs, accurate bills of material, drawings, engineering change documentation, and cost estimation. This individual has accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of developed solutions. This individual is responsible for providing the company with cost effective, durable component, and product designs capable of meeting customer demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Primary responsibilities and duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop detailed designs for mechanical/industrial/transportation equipment use
Prepare engineering drawings that detail process and specifications
Review and analyze specifications, from customer
Work hand in hand with Customer to improve/communicate and modify designs to work in applications
Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery
Compute dimensions, materials, processes and manage quotations accordingly
Consult technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase
Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting system (Inventor) to prepare drawings
Use and maintain models, drawings and other documentation
Assist in quoting of designs
Prepare variations of design
Explain concepts to manufacturing
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines
Draw freehand sketches of designs, and reproduce working drawings and models
Help Maintain accurate bills of materials in the ERP system
Use CAD and ERP systems to maintain, track, plan and successfully implement engineering changes
Review component designs to ensure cost effectiveness

SKILLS AND
Qualifications:

BS - Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with experience in manufacturing. Associates Degree with 7
years Experience will be considered
3 - 5 years drafting experience with stamping, welded, fabricated, and machined components Industrial/Agricultural product design experience preferred.
Prior CAD experience, preferably with Inventor
Basic Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in development of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Basic knowledge of machining, welding, and assembly practices
Basic knowledge of GD&T, and stack-up analysis
Basic knowledge of ANSI welding symbols heir use and applications
Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems and electronics
Basic knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications
Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design of machinery
Basic knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Basic knowledge of weld jig and fixture design
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Basic written and oral, interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment








Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
