Physician (Emergency Department)

The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System has an immediate opening for an emergency room physician.
Formal training and board certification and experience in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Family Practice is preferred.
This position is aligned under Ambulatory Care Service.
The facility is affiliated with Texas A&M University.
Consultants in all specialties and subspecialties support the emergency department.
There is management of acute stroke and acute coronary management in collaboration with Texas A&M and Scott and White Hospital.
Responsibilities include duties in the Emergency Department (ED) and participation in the ED Emergency Preparedness Response.
The Emergency Department Physician is accountable to the Emergency Department Director and is responsible for providing effective delivery of outpatient care while meeting and exceeding compliance standards.
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
Perform assessments/examinations on initial encounters with unscheduled, emergency and new patients.
Coordinate patient treatment plan including performing appropriate procedures when required (may involve specialists as appropriate).
Order appropriate routine diagnostic tests and x-ray studies necessary to complete the evaluation.
Provide physician oversight to Emergency Department nurses and Emergency Department mid-levels.
Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews.
Recommend patients for hospital admissions.
Evenings and weekend work will be required.

IF PATIENT NEEDS ARISE, THE INCUMBENT OF THE ABOVE POSITION MAY BE REASSIGNED WITHIN THE CENTRAL TEXAS VETERANS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
