Assistant Nurse Manager / Palliative Care Unit (PCU)
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager in the supervision of employees and coordinating activities associated with the Palliative Care Unit (PCU) in the Geriatric Extended Care (GEC) Service Line.
The Assistant Nurse Manager will work with the Nurse Manager of GEC in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the delivery of patient care in the PCU and providing leadership of the nursing process.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with the development of and initiation of quality improvement activities at the unit level and participate in inter-disciplinary projects as assigned to improve program performance; Assess and evaluate nursing practice within PCU in collaboration with the Nurse Manager utilizing current standards of care and practice including hiring, evaluating, disciplinary actions and awards programs; Coordinate educational activities at the unit level to improve clinical knowledge and enhance performance; Motivate staff to work independently and contribute to their professional development; Participate in local committees and projects as assigned; Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills, maturity in personal conduct and unquestionable integrity; Approve time and leave requests from staff assigned to PCU; For PCU activities, represent the GEC Nurse Manager and making decisions in the absence of the Nurse Manager, managing day to day operations and attending meetings on their behalf; Coordinate flow of patient appointments and monitoring new consults; Assist the Nurse Manager with counseling of staff when expectations are not met as well as recognizing exceptional performance by recommending incentive awards, special advancements, etc.
; Provide a full range of nursing care to patients in the PCUOther duties as assigned Current Tour of Duty :
Days (7:
30am- 4pm) rotating with Evenings (3:
30pm-12 midnight) and (12 midnight to 8:
00 AM), including every other weekend and holidays.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
