Manager, Product Planning
Global leader in mobile electronics, is seeking a Manager, Product Planning for its office in Cypress, California. This position will analyze and interpret market information, planning products necessary to meet or exceed future customer expectations, market needs and sales and profit targets.
Responsibilities
Supporting duties as required by Product Planning group leader
Coordination Management
o Product Planning Strategy support, with management.
o Product Line-up creation with management.
o Marketing / Technical Report and Studies as required.
o Coordination of efforts with affiliates, vendors, partners.
Product Planning
o Category / product planning for responsible product lines.
o Competitive product evaluation, benchmarking.
o Feature and development specification.
o Creation of related materials.
Product Development Support
o Support of Product Development process and adherence to Product Development Policy.
o Vendor discovery and relations.
o Business plan creation and coordination.
o Design Review leadership and support as appropriate.
o Other Product Development Support as required.
Marketing / Retail Admin Support
o Support in creation of promotional materials for Marketing / Admin departments including, but not limited to; catalogs, price lists, advertisements, promotional videos, sales handbooks, flyers.
o Preparation and presentation of materials for customers as required.
o Show support as required.
o Customer activity and research as required.
Other duties as determined by company management.
Qualifications
A high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years experience working in a Product Planning department is required. College degree preferred.
Ability to prioritize projects and keep them on schedule.
Good communication skills, ability to manage vendors and work in harmony with other support groups within the company.
Good industry and category vision.
Good mechanical aptitude and writing ability.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Must be proficient with MS Office. Experience with MS Project is preferred.
Experience with Adobe CS Suite. InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator are preferred.
Bilingual skills (English/Chinese/Japanese/Spanish/French) are desirable.
Salary:
$70k to $75k/year
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
