Summary of Duties:
Working as part of the scheduling team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the scheduling processes for all medical providers in MD24 House Call practice. Knowledge of business office procedures, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Skill in customer service to greet patients and clinicians over the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Working knowledge of computerized scheduling systems and general scheduling principles within a primary care clinic setting. Ability to maintain a positive and pleasant demeanor at all times, even under stress. Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and staff to attain business and organizational goals. Able to work with minimal supervision and meet key performance index for position.

Essential Functions:
This person must be able to multi task and have an attitude that every patient matters!
Answer telephone and provide information regarding medical procedures.
Maintain an organized work station
Schedule and reschedule patients' appointments.
Cancel patients' appointments and provide them with new dates.
Obtain patients' information and record it in the database.
Call up patients and remind them of their appointments.
Manage filing and record keeping activities.
Ability to perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities.
Fill and distribute daily schedules for doctors and staff.
Complete daily attendant logs for providers.
Maintain and update physician and patient data.
Manage the front desk operations.
Complete insurance and other claim forms.
Organize and maintain confidential medical files and records.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
Schedules and maintains appointments through computerized scheduling program.
Adheres to established Rules of Scheduling as determined by the Practice.
Answers telephone, screens calls, take messages, and provides information along with greeting patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
Handles patient, provider, and staff requests within the appropriate scope of practice.
Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines.
Display a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/
Experience:
Knowledge of business office procedures. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information. Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine. Skill in greeting patients and clinicians over the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, patients' families and/or guardians, physicians, employees, and the public. Working knowledge of computerized scheduling systems and general scheduling principles within a primary care clinic setting. Ability to maintain positive and pleasant demeanor at all times, even when under stress. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and staff to attain business and organizational goals.
Previous medical scheduling experience preferred.
Ability to multi-task and be flexible.
Ability to work independently and complete administrative projects.
Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.

Education:
Associate's Degree preferred or 2 years relevant work experience.
High school graduation or GED requiredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
