Senior Chemist for Universal Biosciences INC.
Job Description:
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Product development of personal care and skin care products (Natural and Organic)
Key contributor to the reformulation of existing product lines in alignment with current regulatory guidelines.
Develop prototype organic and natural formulas for skin care products and perform laboratory evaluations.
Assist the regulatory team with high priority projects
Formulate new natural and organic products per the request of the new product development team
Work closely with the R&D team to meet the needs of the department
Guidance of quality control staff
Input on standard Operating Procedures related to batching and quality control and new products
Sourcing of new novel raw materials for use in Universal Beauty Products
Interaction with various raw material supplier on behalf of Universal Beauty Products
Responsible for development of new products, processes, methods and formulations
Perform feasibility evaluations and prepare samples
Maintain detailed, accurate and organized batch notebook records
Prepare standards and specifications for processes, products and test methods
Provide technical support to Production
Produce small sample orders
Evaluate equipment for new product development
Communicate effectively with co-workers, both written and oral
Support safety rules, regulations and policies of the company
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
The ideal Senior Chemist will have:
Must have at least Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related
Supervisory lab experience (clearly defined in resume)
Candidate with experience in formulation of natural and organic skin care products
Must have at least 5 to 10 years of experience as an formulation chemist
Highly proficient with working independently at the laboratory bench
Knowledgeable of scientific data such as material safety data sheet(MSDS), certificate of analysis, stability testing
Experience in formulating basic natural and organic skin care products: hand lotions and other personal care products.
Prefer an innovator with project management skills and the ability to multitask.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills needed
Must be a good listener who can organize, trouble shoot, problem solve and pay attention to details.
Great oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Chemistry preferred
Hair care industry experience
Familiar with the product development cycle
Proficient in testing methods such as: Viscosity, specific gravity, and pH
