Guest Service/Front Desk Manager

The position of Guest Service Manager (GSM) is responsible for directing associates in the day to day operations at the Front Desk as well as the morning Breakfast Attendants. The ability to deliver superior guest service and be able to effectively manage a staff of 8 to 10 individuals is the primary responsibility.
The ability to work well with others is vital. Daily interaction with the Facilities Manager, Maintenance Engineer, Conference Center Coordinator, Sales Manager, as well as local & corporate ownership creates operational challenges that require the GSM to be well-organized. Completing tasks in a timely fashion, managing the associates in a fair but firm manner and maintaining a sense of humor are critical elements to be successful.
The responsibilities of the Guest Service Manager includes significant time at the front desk delivering guest service directly. It also includes a great emphasis on training/retraining the associates and monitoring staff performance. Service delivery & problem resolution skills are very important
A range of administrative duties includes monitoring & responding to guest inquiries & reviews, processing invoices, completing financial (accounting) procedures, participating in revenue management and contributing to the leadership of the overall hotel.
In the absence of the General Manager, the Guest Service Manager functions in the role of the GM and must have skills in managing the entire hotel including housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and meeting space. Previous experience in these areas is desirable but not required
Previous Hotel experience is desirable, but other applicable experience will be considered. The position is titled manager, but is paid hourly. Therefore some overtime should be anticipated beyond 40 hours per week. Paid time off and select benefits are available.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
