Staff Accountant
General Summary
The Accountant position assists in the financial activities of the corporate accounting department while applying GAAP consistently in order to prepare and analyze financial data and perform cash management and accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs various cash management functions such as daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash flow reports
Maintains accurate and complete accounting records. Recording general ledger entries as required. Reconciles all balance sheet and other accounts on at least a monthly basis.
Assist in preparing reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations including the annual budget
Analyze company financial statements for accuracy and clarity
Assist Accounting Manager, Treasury Manager, Payroll Manager and Corporate Controller in all phases of accounting activities
Plan, conduct and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process
Assist in inventory management, insurance reserve accounting, budgeting and any other assignments given
Work on special projects for upper management, consultants, and internal/external auditors
Filing, faxing and copying as needed
Computer Skills:
Able to navigate in Windows based operating system
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. PowerPoint and Access a plus
Proficient in Internet and Email programs
Proficient in various general ledger packages including Microsoft Great Plains. CDI, TMS, TMT, McLeod, ADP dealer services and Ultipro systems a plus
Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience in all aspects of accounting as well as hands on accounting supervisorial experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Pay rate- Depending on experience $16 to $18 to start benefits after probationary Period
