Sales Engineer
Our client, located in Zeeland, Michigan, has an immediate need to fill the position of Sales Engineer.
Job Description
This Company has an opening for a technical sales professional to work with their regional sales, engineering and manufacturing teams developing and selling light-weight composite panels. The Sales Engineer will be engaged in product design, structural engineering calculations, selection of materials and manufacturing processes such as laminating, bonding and cutting in order to generate winning project proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is an opportunity for an engineer to further his or her experience in these fields through the following activities:.
o Work with customers to gather the scope of work and other information needed to quote and manufacture composite panels.
o Analyze design requirements.
o Determine feasibility of project.
o Assist with design solutions to match equipment/material limitations with customer requirements.
o Optimize design for manufacturability.
o Create bill of materials.
o Analyze manufacturing steps.
o Create bill of labor.
o Prepare price sheet and quotation.
o Assist in developing work instructions.
o Assist in developing blueprints.
o Troubleshoot manufacturing/customer issues by collecting and analyzing information.
o Follow up on successes and shortfalls of product design.
o Manage engineering change process.
o Review and analyze cost and pricing and optimize where possible.

Education and Experience
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and proven experience and proficiency with the following skills:.
o o Reading and preparation of AutoCAD mechanical drawings.
o Familiarity with the organization of manufacturing processes.
o Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
o Basic cost estimating and cost accounting.
o Preparing and making PowerPoint presentation.
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess these
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.
o Experience in reading and preparation of AutoCAD mechanical drawings.
o Familiarity with the organization of manufacturing processes.
o Cost Estimating and Cost Accounting experience related to engineered products.
