Safety Manager

Local manufacturing company is looking for a qualified, experienced Safety Manager.
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have the ability to pass a background check and drug screen and meet the following job requirements.
Job Qualifications
Experience:
3-5 years of experience as a safety manager preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Production or Quality Control experience a plusEducation:
Formal training in occupational safety and health, inspections, and regulations.
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health preferred.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available for all shiftsJob SummaryReview, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
General AccountabilitiesDevelop and manage safety and health programs that comply with regulations and industry best practices.
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety.
Develop or maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, or asbestos management plans.
Investigate accidents and near-misses to identify causes or to determine how such accidents and near-misses might be prevented in the future.
Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, or other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.
Conduct safety training programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
Investigate health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with laws and regulations.
Collaborate with engineers or physicians to institute control or remedial measures for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
Develop or maintain medical monitoring programs for employees.
Coordinate right-to-know programs regarding hazardous chemicals.
Maintain and update emergency response plans or procedures.
Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies.
Maintain inventories of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
