Overview:
MacLellan Integrated Services provides critical process cleaning, maintenance and support services to the automotive manufacturing industry nationwide.
The Assistant Contract Manager is a critical supervisory position in our organization. This role is responsible for the management and development of a team of supervisors and team members delivering critical process cleaning and maintenance in an automotive manufacturing plant operating continuous shifts. This is a key management position, responsible for safety, quality, service delivery, and cost KPIs as well as coaching, mentoring and developing a team to deliver the highest possible added value to our customer.
This position requires a broad range of well developed people skills and the ability to effectively problem solve on the fly in a fast paced, JIT, safety focused environment to be successful. This role has a high degree of customer interaction and visibility and requires an exceptional level of detail orientation as well as superior management skill to instill core values and ensure all tasks are accomplished while continuously building and strengthening the customer relationship.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Contract Manager for the site, the Assistant Contract Manager interacts with customer contacts at different levels of seniority involved in maintenance and production, and their team of salaried supervisors and hourly team leads and team members and on a daily basis ensuring all tasks and activities are accomplished. The Assistant Contract Manager provides leadership to mentor, coach and develop their team to continuously improve their job performance and skills while consistently enforcing company policies and values. This role leads by example to promote a team environment, continuously drive improvement, identify and correct anomalies and create a high performing culture with safety as a constant expectation.
Specific Duties &
Responsibilities:
Monitor safety, delivery, quality, and cost metrics and manage daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
Maintain all employee work schedules and backfill utilizing a variable work force company when required.
Maintain communication boards providing task and safety updates to our team and customer.
Oversee and help maintain the LOTO board, weekly safety book data, and maintain weekly safety targets.
Interact with key customer contacts on a daily basis, and continuously build and maintain customer relationships.
Respond to frequent customer requests, schedule and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
Responsible for reviewing Labor Efficiency tracking, making adjustments and achieving Labor Efficiency targets.
Maintain consumables budgets and monitor customer plan vs. actual consumables spend report.
Conduct 5S audits and record continuous improvement activities.
Lead, inspire and guide team members to perform duties in a safe, cooperative & team oriented environment.
Hold all team members accountable for established performance expectations.
Maintain consistent high quality standards at all points of service.
Provide Account Manager with regular updates on activity status and client meetings.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT AND MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE

REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Experience:
At least 4 years of related experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (automotive industry or automotive paint shop a plus) with emphasis on high volume, mixed process manufacturing, and at least 2 years of management experience with supervisory responsibility.
Must have experience with and demonstrated knowledge of kaizen/continuous improvement processes and principles.
Engineering, production or quality control background, paint defect experience, document control and tracking, or experience with DuPont safety systems are all desirable plusses, but not required.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering, manufacturing or business discipline or an equivalent combination of directly related supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment and:
2 year technical degree from a certified trade school or technical college in an industrial field or an accredited maintenance apprenticeship program.
Continuing education in a relevant technical discipline.
Formalized training or certification in problem solving, root cause analysis, 5S or Kaizen is highly desirable.

Must demonstrate exceptional communications skills and the ability to present to customers, team members, and managers.
Extremely strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with peers, management, subordinates and team members to positively impact performance.
Must be driven by a strong customer focus with the ability to drive process improvement and encourage excellence.
Must be computer literate and demonstrate strong proficiency using MS Office.
