Intern - System Administrator

We are looking for System Administrator intern candidates who are highly organized and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be self-starters and creative problem solvers who have the flexibility to learn new products and technologies quickly.
The System Administrator intern will work with various internal teams including the Functional Managers, Technical Directors, and Technical SME's to facilitate the delivery of server infrastructure.
The position will require the candidate to support and execute processes and procedures related to the implementation of platform infrastructure.
Essential
Responsibilities:
o Work alongside Business Analysts, SMEs and technical staff to understand the goals/objectives to implement solutions based on requirements o Works with IT staff and management to document and maintain company technical processes and standards.
o Develops, monitors and enforces technical standards o Able to monitor, modify and maintain assigned system(s) in support of optimal performance and availability.
o Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
o Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts and principles.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Ensures that all changes to managed systems production environments adhere to established Change Management procedures.
o Has an understanding of systems, hardware and peripherals and can perform task required to obtain system data and assist with replacement or installation of server hardware.
o Practices asset management for hardware, software, and equipment, and ensures that asset management policies are adhered to by the team.
Required Knowledge/Skills:
o Familiarity with common enterprise technology concepts and terminology o Experience with server based operating systems (Windows or Linux) o Basic working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts o Experience installing and troubleshooting server based operating systems (Windows or Linux) o Knowledge of server/application deployment techniques, methodologies, and tools o Proactive and capable of grasping technical material quickly o Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to take ownership and define work with little direction o Good communication and time management skills o Enjoys working individually and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment o Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines o Ability to accept changes and constructive criticism in a fast turn-around environment o Technical knowledge of commonly used hardware and software productsQualifications Conditions of Employment All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of certain background checks which unless prohibited by applicable law may include criminal history checks, employment verification, education verification, drug screens, credit checks, DMV checks (for driving positions only) and fingerprinting.
