Circulation Manager

The Circulation Manager (CM) ensures that our quarterly journal is received by all paid subscribers, as well as by those who are designated to receive complimentary copies. The CM ensures that payments are properly processed and that the data in the associated databases are up to date and accurate.
General requirements:
Must be logic- and detail-oriented
Excellent general computer skills (including Excel and Word)
Minimum five years database or spreadsheet-intensive work experience
Willing and able to help people on the phone (this is not a sales position, but people will call with questions, or they will want to purchase their subscription over the phone)
Duties:
Manage subscriber and recipient information using two separate databases (one of which is Subscription Genius), and coordinating the information between the two.
Process subscription purchases made via check or credit card, mailed to our office.
Process subscriptions purchased online.
Process gift subscriptions
Manage renewal letters and reminders.
Manage multiple lists of complimentary recipients, ensuring that that data is up-to-date
Answer and field phone calls regarding subscription inquiries.
Assist subscribers via phone in understanding how to access online features of the magazine.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
We are in the process of transitioning to a new database system. Although we expect this position to be approximately 20 hours per week, hours may fluctuate from 15-25 hours per week depending on the time of year. This is an hourly, part-time position. No benefits or insurance included. Salary dependent on qualifications.
We offer some flexibility regarding scheduling of the work, within our typical office hours. For example, possible hours could be 9:00-1:00, 10:00-2:00, or 1:00-5:00.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
