We are currently seeking a highly-motivated and experienced professional to join our dynamic and energetic team as a Purchasing / Logistics Specialist in the rapidly growing North America operation in Taylor, Michigan.
This position reports to the Plant Manager and requires initiative, good communication skills, and attention to detail. The position covers a broad range of purchasing and logistics-related activities, with opportunities to specialize as the company grows.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Work with inventory management system to ensure accurate supplier data and inventory levels
Maintain and optimize supply chain from all suppliers, both US, the sister company in the Netherlands and international
Identify secondary suppliers and local sources
Negotiate contracts with suppliers
Coordinate with warehouse, production and sales staff to ensure consistent supply of parts while minimizing inventory levels
Refine and improve purchasing and logistic procedures
Develop familiarity with function of parts
Occasional travel to suppliers may be required
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum 5 years experiencing in purchasing/logistics related role
Bachelor's degree
Self-motivated and confident with good attention to detail
Technical background and/or experience purchasing technical, specialized products
Must be able to multi-task
Experience in (small) manufacturing environment preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience with Inventory Management Systems, certified equipment (NSF, UL, etc), global purchasing desired, and/or Dutch language considered an advantage.
Salary $65,000 - $75,000 based on years of experience
