JOB TITLE: Industrial Hygienist (4 positons possible)
Job Description
Successful Candidates will:
Provide Industrial Hygiene (IH) support in various topical areas; provide support for the field implementation of industrial hygiene and management requirements for implementation of the Chronic Beryllium Disease Prevention Program.
Develop and implement effective and efficient methods for controlling and eliminating occupational health hazards by providing input into the job hazard analyses. Reviews and implements safety and health policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and orders from regulating entities (i.e., Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and DOE).
REQUIRED
o BS degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field plus one to five years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
o Candidates must be capable of meeting physical requirements for working in a hazardous waste environment, work in radiological environment, and able to wear respiratory equipment.
DESIRED
o Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desired but not required. Previous DOE site experience or other nuclear facility experience.
Medical Requirements:
Baseline medical monitoring and periodic surveillance is required for this position. If an individual is currently or has been in one of the testing required programs listed in the Employee Job Task Analysis (EJTA) within the last 5 months and the new position does not require additional testing, at the sole discretion of CHPRC, the pre-employment testing requirement may be considered met. Failure to pass any required testing will result in the individual's assignment ending.
Beryllium testing: This position may require working in a Beryllium Area and additional medical testing will be required.
DURATION
Expected period of performance shall be Date of Award through March 2nd, 2016 (with possibility for extension).
All candidates are subject to a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screening as required by the client.
