Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is a tier one automotive supplier.

Summary:
The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for the installation, modification and troubleshooting of automated assembly equipment. They study the performance and reliability of the equipment to drive recommendations or implement improvements. These improvements are validated through controlled studies and defined metrics. The role works hands on with Maintenance and others to find and eliminate root causes.

Responsibilities:
Analyses assembly equipment for the best method of manufacture
Specifies tools, equipment and processes to produce a part or assembly, or evaluate processes in assigned areas
Directs the design and building of tools and equipment, or recommends improvements to existing processes
Define metrics to accurately measure machine performance
Controls parameters and recipes for existing and new products
Develops and documents new tools, equipment, and processes
Participates in teams and cross-functional groups
Provides technical assistance and support to manufacturing operations
Analyses product variation plans and implements process capability improvements
Develops statistically based manufacturing control strategies
Develops and implements productivity improvements
Evaluates and implements new technologies
Performs special projects as required

REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Knowledge and understanding of PLC logic and related controls
Knowledge of materials and methods of manufacturing
3-5 years of experience in automated equipment, tool design, tool engineering, maintenance and/or related functions
Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and drawings
Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
