Medical Surgical/Emergency Department Manager
IMMEDIATE OPENING for a Registered Nurse to be the Medical Surgical/Emergency Department Manager in our Nursing Department.
This manager position utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care and in supervisory patient care. Supervises and directs nursing staff in provision of nursing care. Responsible for delivering care that is therapeutically effective and safe as well as cost-effective. Participates in Performance Improvement and assures safe patient care. Assists in maintaining up to date policies and procedure manuals and utilizes them as reference in supervising. Attends and participates in staff, charge nurse and administrative nurse meetings. Participates in orientation, training and education of staff. Demonstrates leadership abilities which enhance the management of the nursing department. Directly reports to Nursing Administration.
Qualifications:
Licensed and current as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
Experience as a Charge Nurse in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated
The ability to express self and to communicate his/her ideas clearly
The ability to make appropriate and effective decisions and to function under pressure
Professional conduct and manner befitting the position.
Basic computer skills
Obtain and maintain certification with CPR, ACLS, PALS, & TNCC

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
