OPERATING ROOM TECH
POSITION SUMMARYTo assist and provide technical skills to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses and operatingroom staff.
To assist in ensuring cleanliness and organization in the operating room.
Nonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime)MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSWork experience may substitute for minimum education requirement.
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Training Program or Graduate from a Licensed PracticalNursing Program approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing and one (1) year of surgical scrub experiencerequired.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSEnsures all necessary equipment is in the operating room prior to the start of the case.
Maintains organization and cleanliness of the area.
Sterilizes and disinfects equipmentafter use.
Serves as a role model for new operating room staff.
Assists in positioning the patient to ensure comfort and safety.
Maintains accurate documentation for patients in the operating room.
Demonstrates ability to operate various equipment within the operating room.
Troubleshoots all related equipment as needed.
