Emergency Room nurses are responsible to treat a variety of injuries and illness brought into the Emergency Room. They specialize in rapid assessment and treatment when every second counts, particularly during the initial phase of acute illness. An ER nurse must take measures to stabilize a patient's condition such as administering medication, intubation, drawing blood and/or starting IV's
Responsibilities Include:
? Prioritizing patients and determine which patient requires medical attention first.
? Responsible for the stabilization of patients with minimum information.
? Coordinates services with medical staff, EMS staff, and other medical units.
? Monitor and record patient's vital statistics.
? Report emergency development or degradation in health to the physician.
? Complete a pain assessment of the patient and tend to his/her pain management.
RN Requirements:
? Current PA RN License
? One year experience
? Authorization to work in the United States
