Structural Engineer

ShawCo Engineering is looking for a full time Structural/Civil Engineer to work on regional projects in our northeast Ohio office. The qualified individual will have experience in the design of structural steel/concrete support structures and foundations for heavy industrial facilities utilizing primarily STAAD, Excel, hand calculations and design standards.
Typical Duties:
o Perform calculations for the design of structural steel and concrete support structures and foundation systems.
o Assist with the creation of design drawings and specifications.
o Assist with the creation of analysis and/or inspection reports.
o Interaction with contractors, fabricators, owners and clients.
o Lead onsite structural inspections.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural design.
o 5
years' experience in performing design calculations.
o Licensed Professional Engineer preferred (or working towards license).
o Heavy Industrial (Steel, Iron, Power, Refining, Manufacturing) structural and foundation design experience.
o Structural steel and concrete design experience.
o Deep and shallow foundation design experience.
o Knowledge of: AISC Steel Manual, ACI 318, ASCE 7
o Proficient in: STAAD, AutoCAD, Excel and MS Office.
o Sound communication skills.
o Knowledge of construction means and methods a plus.
o Some commercial experience a plus.
o Onsite structural inspection experience a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
