RCML Color Match Technician

Provide Color Matching and Color Prints for customer projects for NAI Mid-West Regional coverage and National new business transitions projects. Apply color theory and digital color principals using various lab equipment, SAP, Outlook, Excel and color software and Access database to yield proficient color matching and proofing using 289 product lines and 11 applications, 825 substrates to a defined daily output standard and digital/physical quality specifications to meet NAI customer request supporting 1229 customers across NAI.

Functions/
Responsibilities:
Using various colorants across 30-50 product lines in 2 print application to complete color matching to various type color targets i.e. digital, physical (wet/dry) and verbal to meet defined quality specifications and daily defined output standards.
Data entry and import of customer and internal digital color data into color software for color measurements and aid in supporting color match and digital quality specifications.
Data entry for each project line detail and quality results in Access database. Use of database to retrieve project conditions, quality specifications, material restrictions, approved product lines for use, formulary design & ratio's, lab equipment specifications and customer specific alerts.
Use and set up of lab equipment to create color proofs in accordance with project equipment configuration, color and physical quality specifications.
Use of SAP for assigning product identification codes and existing product search.
Requirements:
Understanding of color measurement, testing methods, manufacturing methods and quality testing
Must pass colorblindness test and possess good mathematical skills (e.g., ability to normalize formulations and perform conversions, i.e., volume to weight measurement, etc.).
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate obstacles in work flow details.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or electronic data.
Ability to identify problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations
Ability to compute formula rate, ratio and percentage.
Strong organizational and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong proficiency with computers and lab related software programs.
Knowledge of SAP a big plus.
Ability to stand for long periods of time & lift up to 30 lbs.
Education:
College degree or related industry experience Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
