Medical Assistant -- Endocrinology
The Endocrinology Division of Prima CARE has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant for their thriving office practice in Fall River, Massachusetts.
The Division is comprised of four physicians and a staff that includes front-office, nursing personnel, and other supporting staff. Patients with diabetes, hormonal disorders, and metabolic conditions are seen in the office and thyroid procedures are performed by the physicians. The Medical Assistant is considered an important part of the team.
Duties:
Typical for a Medical Assistant, including interviewing patients, reviewing basic medical information, taking and recording vital signs, and performing simple office-based tests like blood sugar testing.
The successful candidate must be comfortable and confident in a patient-care environment, with an ability to explain medical information clearly and to reinforce patient education. Valuable qualities include a friendly and personable attitude, a willingness to enthusiastically accept responsibility, to think independently, and to be a problem-solver. Teamwork is essential.
Formal training as a Medical Assistant and experience in a medical office are desirable. The ability to speak Portuguese is particularly valuable in Fall River. Prima CARE uses eClinicalworks as its electronic medical record (EMR), so basic computer skills are required and familiarity with an EMR is desirable.
This full-time position is available immediately. The position will be considered temporary for the first 3 months, with the potential for long-term employment after an assessment of initial job performance.
Hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday. Full-time employees are entitled to benefits including vacation, sick/personal time, a 401k retirement plan, and health insurance.
Salary will be determined by the employee's training and experience.
