To provide overall clinical and administrative supervision of nursing services to assure that quality care is provided on a 24 hr./7 day per week basis. Functions as a member of the senior leadership team of RSH. Coordinates nursing efforts in maintaining accreditation, certification and licensure. Recruitment and retention of all nursing employees. Assures that nursing personnel adhere to all rules and regulations established by RSH, State Personnel and FSSA. Establishes nursing policies and procedures that reflect best practices in psychiatric nursing and that reflect the mission and vision of RSH. Assures that nursing policies, procedures and practices reflect the Recovery Model of Care philosophies and core concepts. Actively participates in the hospital policy and procedure development and dissemination.
Duties:
Establishing and maintaining the standards of practice for nursing that are consistent with state laws & professional organizations.
Develops policies and practices within the nursing department that meet standards/criteria of applicable laws and accrediting/certifying agencies (Joint commission, CMS, IOSHA, Medicaid).
Participates in leadership functions including, but not limited to: member of senior leadership team, acting as Administrator on Duty when assigned, participating in a leadership role for hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives, serving on a variety of standing and ad hoc committees within the hospital.
Provides administrative/clinical supervision of nursing employees.
Directs recruitment and retention of nursing employees. Participates in the interviewing and hiring processes for the nursing department.
Collaborates with non-nursing disciplines/departments to provide safe/quality care for patients.
Assess and provides training and continuing education for nursing personnel, including assuring competencies for nursing staff.
Participates in performance management of nursing service employees.
Works with Staff Development nurses to coordinate clinical experiences for clinical nursing students.
Collaborates with the pharmacy and medical department directors to assure safe and accurate administration and documentation of medications.
Networks and collaborates with other Directors of Nursing in state operated facilities to support state nursing initiatives and programs.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Masters in Nursing or related healthcare field
Four years of supervisory experience
Valid Indiana RN license.
Good computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Access, and ability to become proficient in programs supporting an electronic medical record.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.
Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
