Put your sales chops to use to help connect more home buyers get into the homes they want. We're looking for Mortgage Consultants who feel equally comfortable working with Provident Credit Union members, realtors, and SEG groups. You'll be helping us build our loan portfolio while helping build relationships that help people realize the dream of home ownership.
What is a Mortgage Consultant?
A Mortgage Consultant is more than a sales person -- although strong sales skills are a definite bonus. You'll be originating real estate loans by selling our loan products and services to people who need them. At the same time, you'll be providing prompt, friendly and professional service to our members who are looking to buy homes. As part of this role, you'll be building referral relationships with members, realtors and SEG groups. This includes regularly reaching out to current and potential members as well as realtors to initiate the real estate loan process.
Think of yourself as the hub, bringing together all the parties involved in getting a loan originated and closed. Got great telemarketing skills, too? Perfect: You'll be putting those to use to increase loan production. You'll also be working with specialize mortgage agents to make sure we're delivering the level of service our members deserve.
Here's a breakdown of the day-to-day functions:
Coordinate and manage communications around the loan process.
Interface with members and all parties involved in the loan process from application to closing.
Counseling and pre-qualifying home buyers.
Making sure all the i's are dotted and all the t's are crossed on applications, and that those applications are completed within 24 hours of receipt.
Gathering all the needed support documents including appropriate fee and lock-in information, credit documentation and post-close documentation to ensure timely approval.
Monitoring loan status and making sure the loan conforms with the terms.
Keeping all interested parties up to speed on the loan status.
Generate and manage leads, solicit loan applications, create weekly sales plans, and meet sales goals.
Build long-tern relationships with the real estate community and SEGs in our markets.
Know what's trending in the real estate market and competitive landscape.
Stay ahead of changing rules and regulations in the mortgage industry.
Work with branches to generate leads, train and coach staff, provide closing status, and enter branch applications and pre-approvals.
Complete BSA and OFAC training annually, and adhere to their guidelines including reporting suspicious activity.

What you'll bring to the position:
High school degree
College degree in business, economics or related field
Sales experience and skills
At last three years experience as a mortgage loan officer, lending experience in a financial institution, or sales experience that translates to this position
Working knowledge of technical underwriting guidelines
The drive to capture and act on opportunities
The desire to help people reach their dreams
The ability to set goals, develop plans for reaching those goals, and then exceeding them
Great communication skills

EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
