JOB TITLE: Mac OS/iOS Engineer and Application Developer
LOCATION: Arlington, VA

REPORTS TO: Project Manager

POSITION
Summary:

The ideal candidate is highly competent with a passion for developing polished applications and the ability to juggle multiple development projects concurrently.

You will be providing application development support for the Enterprise IT Services Directorate - Macintosh Center of Excellence, supporting Pentagon components and the Department of Defense. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team you will be tasked with building, testing and deploying future Mac OS X and iOS-based operating systems; assisting with integration and testing of multiple third-party applications required for securely operating Apple hardware within existing DoD and Federal Government Active Directory based networks. Also, you will be providing recommendations to help standardize the mobile direction within the Office of the Secretary of Defense and provide technical consultation and development expertise to lead ongoing and future mobile development efforts.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Must be proficient with both iOS and OS X application development, with the ability to set standards and establish guidelines for best practices on iOS and OS X application development projects.
Will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and distributing mobile and desktop applications for the DoD.
Must possess a high level of maturity with excellent written and oral communication skills; capable of accurately documenting requirements, tasks, and results.
Must be able to work as part of a collaborative team to solve problems and develop solutions quickly and efficiently.
Must have advanced level of configuration and troubleshooting knowledge of OS X and should be familiar with installing, configuring and supporting Mac OS and third party software.
Will occasionally be required to directly support Sr. DoD Officials, Executives and Pentagon components.
Exposure to and knowledge of DoD and Federal Government IT security policies, familiar with implementing DISA STIG requirements would be very beneficial.
Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation based on work performed.
Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Two or more years of software development industry experience using Objective-C and Cocoa.
Experience creating Enterprise-level OS X and iOS applications.
Proficient with Xcode, Git, and scripting (BASH, PHP PERL, Ruby, Python, et al).
Must have demonstrated experience (open-source, App Store, etc) with iOS/OS X development.
Experience with OTA or private App Store distribution.
Networking experience designing web-service APIs and utilizing existing networking services.
Applicants must be able to pass NACI background employment check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
CompTia Security
Certification - Required within 60 days of employment.
Previous or current Secret Security Clearance preferred.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Additional areas of expertise (highly desired):
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience writing code in Swift.
Experience with JAMF Casper.
Experience with submitting and managing Apple App Store submission process.
Expertise with designing and developing mobile security solutions.
A portfolio of GitHub repositories and contributions.
MDM experience (Casper, MobileIron, AirWatch, etc.).
Experience integrating 3rd party source-code.
Knowledge of Windows network based authentication using smartcard (CAC/ PIV) accreditation to obtain a domain issued Kerberos ticket. Knowledge and understanding of PKI, trusted certificates, ROOT certificates, Keychain configuration and Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) services.
Configure, test and implement DISA STIG requirements in accordance to DoD and Federal Government IT security policies.
Create and administer Apple operating system installation and application packages using JAMF Casper Administration.
Performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex applications.
Ability to assist scripting using AppleScript and Unix Shell Scripts.
Experience with Wordpress website design and development.
Proficiency with Git and GitHub to manage source-code.
Previous exposure to the following third party software would be beneficial. AdmitMac PKI, Centrify, McAfee Security, CITRIX, Cisco and/or Juniper VPN, Microsoft Office 2011, FireFox, Chrome, and Adobe software and suite (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, CS5).
Valued Certifications:
Certified Casper Administrator.
Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP).
Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC).
