Director of Finance


Summary: The Director, Finance, is responsible for the overall success of all finances for the PLG US and International Entities. The Director, Finance will have an excellent grasp of International and US accounting procedures with high level of attention to detail, management, excellent people skills, a demonstrated interest in the training and development of a team. The Director, Finance is responsible for accurate billing of client charges as presented by Immigration Specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Finance Duties
Supervise daily activities of Finance team in both US and International entities.
Oversee all wire payments, domestic and foreign for all PLG entities
Manage Monthly and Annual Inter-company transfer pricing.
Manage Foreign Auditors and Accountants.
Reconcile all PLG Entities in Quick Books
Maintain accuracy through General Ledger entries in Quick Books
Manage Tax reconciliations for all PLG entities across the globe
Ensure PLG is in compliance with all relevant regulations and ensure filings are completed in a timely manner
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Creating and monitoring department, intra-company and inter-company budgets for all PLG entities.
Prepare and analyze Financial reports for all PLG entities e.g. Profit & Loss statement (monthly and quarterly), cashflow, etc.
Manage all internal and external audits of financials for all PLG entities
Oversee the payments of all KGNM and vendor invoices
Review and approve staff expense reports for all PLG entities
Identify and implement Metrics and KPI's for PLG income, expense and productivity activities.
Managerial Duties
Be the escalation point for team managers
Performance Evaluations - Complete and deliver downstream team member performance evaluations
Team Meetings - meet regularly with downstream team as group and / or individually to review feedback
Timesheets - ensure time sheets are being submitted, as applicable for downstream team
Team goals - set realistic goals / tasks for downstream team as a group and / or individually and ensure individuals take ownership for successful completion.
Ensure KPI's have been developed and monitored for the team
PTO - Monitor team PTO to ensure adequate coverage.
Information - Ensure dissemination of information downstream
Encourage team members to take responsibility for their own actions.
Resources & Hiring
Identify hiring needs for the functional area and shares with EM Team
Identify and request additional resources for functional area as needed.
Works with HR to vet candidates, interview, assess and submit hiring approval.
Management Feedback
Share feedback with EM Team (personnel) as related to PLG
Works as part of the EM Team to provide strategic direction
Partners with other Directors/Managers to ensure understanding of operational decisions on the financial health of the company
Ownership & Communication
Leads teams by example
Take ownership to ensure processes are being followed and implemented
Builds communication links between teams.
Shares information and updates from EM Team with the Finance team
Recognizes and shares key team achievements (case related or personal -e.g. philanthropy achievements)
Information - Ensure dissemination of information downstream
Acts as spokesperson for the Finance Managers to EM Team: voices concerns or issues
Provides positive feedback as well as constructive criticism
Oversee continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes
Continuous Improvement. Encourage team to find better ways of doing things / processes / procedures etc.
Reports
Ensures delivery of monthly reporting for clients (with Client Services)

Training
Responds to team member training requests
Approves additional training for Managers as needed
Works to develop leadership skills of team

Meetings
Leads Finance team meetings on a biweekly basis

Projects
Implementation assistance as it relates to invoicing needs for client on boarding

Compliance
Supports Quality Management System and ensures that Client Services Training Guides are updated as necessary
Works with Client Services to create client specific invoicing policies and procedures
Writes and / or delegates writing of procedures for the department
Ensure downstream team signs off on procedures
Encourage team to offer solutions and improvements to processes and procedures
Travel
International travel as required.

Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, prefer MBA
Certified Public Accountant Certification or equivalent from another country required
10
years of Accounting experience

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed styles and formats

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages all employees in the Finance Dept of PLG and GVS. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
