Group Controller

Position Duties:
Assist in establishing the initial processes and workflows needed to fulfill departments vision, and the vision of a follow the sun shared services model.
Manage the accounting team and drive efficient, accurate process alignment to conform to Global Accounting Services policies.
Align with the internal partners such as Sales, Procurement, Operations, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Finance in order to drive high quality, compliant, and efficient processing and reporting.
General Accounting and Month-End Close:
Supervise the Americas' general accounting, transactional activities and reporting functions to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing within the general ledgers.
Manage the month end closing process on a timely and accurate basis, including journal entry and account reconciliations reviews for the Americas.
Collaborate across the organization to ensure accounts and accruals requiring judgment and estimation (e.g. reserves, chargebacks, VSM, etc.) are appropriate at month-end closing.
Collaborate with treasury on subjects, including hedging, FX and stock compensation accounting.
Provide consultation and technical research on accounting pronouncements.
Manage the Global Company's consolidated financial statement close process each month.
Assist in the preparation of SEC reports (e.g. 10-Q and 10-K, etc.) and related reporting and analysis.
Customer and Vendor Shared Services:
Approve cash disbursements and user access levels for online banking applications.
Ensure timely reviews of daily AR, Inventory, AP and bank reconciliations are performed.
Ensure proper accounting for project accounting, capex and Concur expense reporting.
Work with shared service teams to ensure compliance matters (e.g. sales tax, etc.) are resolved.
Responsible for proper payroll processing, accounting and reporting for regional entities.
Manage the Region's Shared Service Center's transaction for timely and accurate accounting recognition, facilitating continuous process improvements and global harmonization of best practices.
Regularly review the status of the Americas collections and aging to ensure receivables are in sound condition. Discuss issues with the Global Controller to manage risk and ensure proper valuation.
Oversee timely and accurate cash application, including timely resolution and accounting of unapplied cash/underpayments, chargeback's, VSM's and other collection matters.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and CPA designation required.
Previous management of accounting services experience required.
Knowledge and experience dealing with US GAAP, IFRS, SEC and SOX 404 compliance required.
Multi-national experience working with global consolidation and currency translations required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
Advanced IT Skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, ERP Software, Business Intelligence tools, etc.) required.
Strong people, project and process management experience, including systems implementations.
Preferred
Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience. Consumer goods industry experience preferred.
Master's degree is preferred.
Big 4 or large regional accounting firm audit experience with global public company clients preferred.
Large Company experience working within a global shared service environment is preferred.
Oracle ERP and BI system experience preferred.
Shared service process experience (e.g. accounts receivable and accounts payable) preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
