TITLE:Sterile Processing Technician
POSITION
Summary:
The Surgem, LLC. Sterile Processing Technician reports to the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, and Director of SPD. This position will be responsible for maintaining proper records of all sterilization processes in the Center as well as cleaning and sterilization of all instruments in the Center.
MAIN POSITION REQUIREMENTS: o Decontaminates/cleans, inspects, assembles, preps & packages, and HLD/sterilizes according to manufacturer's instructions and policy & procedures. o Acquires, maintains, and utilizes all manufacturers' instructions for cleaning and processing all instruments and equipment for surgery. o Documents all sterilization and HLD cycles. Labels products with sterilization date. o Performs disinfection/sterilization processes in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinates sterilization process with DON & staff to ensure accuracy. o Operates AER, autoclave, washer, ultrasonic, and Sterrad units. o Performs quality control through routine testing, cleaning, and monitoring to assure sterilization equipment and instruments are functioning properly. Inspects equipment, instruments, and packaging for cleanliness, defects and/or malfunctions. o Assists and unpacking of ordered products as assigned o Transports instrumentation to and from Sterile Storage area when needed. o QA monitoring of packages sterilized to ensure proper procedures are maintained. o Ensuring proper preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment used. Interacting with maintenance personnel when necessary to ensure there is service provided in a timely fashion if equipment is taken out of service. o Works in both soiled and clean utility room using proper personal protective equipment when necessary. o Assists in picking of cases for the day when needed. o Transports instrumentation to and from the sterile processing area when needed. o Stocks the storeroom. o Ensuring that all broken instruments are repaired and all dull instruments are sharpened by the proper vendor in a timely fashion. o Accepting linen supply and stocking the linen for the use in the Center. o Provides inventory sheets in storage supplies when requested. o Maintains records of all manufacturers' instructions for cleaning and processing all instruments and equipment for surgery. o Other duties as assigned to include traveling to other SurgiCare center sites upon request to assist the centers with staff shortages.

Requirements
o Must have completed high school or equivalent.
o Certification by a national central service certification program is required.
o Minimum of one year of experience required.



Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
