Currently, the company is looking for a Project Development Engineer to join its corporate and regional teams dedicated to exploring new growth opportunities.
Summary:
The Project Development Engineer manages the engineering, EPC Contracting, and preliminary EPC activities during the project development phase.
The Project Development Engineer supports the development team by providing all relevant technical and commercial input required to develop projects, submit bids, analyze prospective acquisitions, and achieve financial close on assigned projects.
Supervision Received:
This position will be assigned to specific development or acquisition opportunities and will receive functional guidance from the VP, Operations & Engineering and project guidance from the assigned development team Project Manager.
Supervision Exercised:
Supervision of outside consultants and the selected Engineering firm acting as Owner's Engineer.

Responsibilities:
Determine scope of supply requirements for EPC contracts.
Manages and provides technical, performance, and pricing data for screening of early stage project development.
Supports permit application developmentWorks in Development teams to oversee technical issues, including the creation of winning strategies for competitive bidding and the preparation of the technical portion of proposals.
Manages Owners Engineer and other third parties completing engineering studies under technical service agreements during acquisition due diligence, screening, full scale development, and the project financing process.
Responsible for budget and schedule for engineering deliverables including the Owners Construction Budget, Scope Book and related Project Contracts.
Insures that EPC contracts are properly aligned with the PPA, FSA and other relevant project documents at both the bid stage and after the award of a mandateNegotiates EPC contract terms and conditions.
Negotiates technical issues, including scope of supply and equipment performance, with clients and the EPC contractorSupports corporate initiatives related to the Operations and Engineering function including issues related to clients, contractors, vendors, technology, procedures, and standards.
Supports the environmental impact assessment and the public consultation processes on assigned projects.
Supports the Lender's due diligence process, managing and supporting the efforts of the Lenders Engineers and providing technical input to Lenders in support of Financial CloseSupports unplanned, unforeseen special initiatives or requirements as needed.
Sources data, identifies and develops viable options.
Performs other tasks as directed by the VP, Operations & Engineering as needed to support plant operations and corporate growth initiatives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.

Ten plus years' experience in the power industry and IPP industry, with experience in both the technical and commercial aspects of executing lump sum, turnkey, power plant projects.
This experience can be gained through working with OEM's, EPC contractors, and/or other Owner/Operators.
Experience analyzing power project acquisitions and supporting related due diligence a plus.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of fossil fired power plant technology including Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle Power Plants including Engineering, design construction and start-up processes and procedures.
Knowledge of renewable generation technology a plus.
Knowledge of EPC contract terms and conditions and experience with the negotiation of EPC contracts, contract change orders and dispute resolution experience.
Knowledge of cost estimating methods for major equipment associated with power plants and complete turnkey power plants.
Knowledge of the potential environmental impacts of power plants and mitigation measuresKnowledge of CPM scheduling methods and techniques Travel:
Approximately 25%-50% of the time, dependent on deal flow and phase of development.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
