Clinical Lab Assistant I (PT, Casual)
Able to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively and discreetly with patients, physicians, hospital employees and the public.
Able to work under pressure.
Willingness to increase knowledge of laboratory/hospital functions.
Demonstrates creativity and initiative in problem solving.
Receives samples for testing and performs initial data entry, recognizes and prioritizes STAT specimens.
Provides information regarding specimen results, status and collection requirements.
Prepares reference lab specimens for shipment.
This individual is the first line of communication with medical personnel in the hospital and the community, requiring excellent telephone skills and a thorough knowledge of laboratory test terminology.
