Job Requirements

Education and Training
B.S. Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Chemical or Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science.

Experience
Five years in a manufacturing environment leading continuous improvement initiatives .

Additional Knowledge Requirements
Strong technical acumen, problem solving, self motivated and independent.
Materials processing at high temperature; Glass to metal sealing experience is a plus.
Six Sigma methodology and CAD proficiency preferred.

Major Duties
Job Purpose:
Provides technical support in areas of manufacturing: machining, brazing/welding/soldering, glass sealing, furnace operations, plating. Responsible for continuous improvement, process development, process control/optimization and for equipment/technology support.

Responsibilities:
Identifies and analyzes manufacturing problems related to production processes.
Develops and implements new processes, equipment and controls.
Responsible for yield improvement and cost reduction projects.
Designs and executes engineering tests. Issues final technical reports with conclusions.
Employs, as appropriate, design of experiments and defect analysis in tests.
Prepares CER's supporting capital equipment procurement.
Manages engineering projects to achieve business ojectives, regularly communicates status.
Initiates and implements engineering changes and document revisions.
Prepares process specifications, work instructions, route sheets and technical drawings.
Trains supervisors and production associates as required.

Knowledge & Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Project management experience
8-D Problem solving/root cause analysis in a production environment
Lean Six Sigma expertise
Must be a self-starter with a hands-on approach and the capability to work independently and in a team.
CAD software proficiency; Autodesk Inventor is a plus.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
