Metrics Developer Analyst
1. OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are seeking a Metrics Developer Analyst to support the Retirement Technology Insights & Analytics team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the design and development of a dashboard for the CIO of Retirement Technology. Depending on the effort required to support the CIO Dashboard, this person may also be assigned to support the development of other metrics dashboards.
The person in this role will report to the head of the Insights & Analytics team and work closely with the office of the CIO to design the dashboard, extract data from a variety of sources and manipulate the data into an easily understandable dashboard format. He/she will work closely with the key stakeholders to understand the data and develop the key data insights to allow the CIO to make key strategic decisions. A data-visualization and reporting tool like Tableau or Cognos will be used to produce the dashboard.
The incumbent should be proficient in data analysis and reporting, have experience using a tool like Cognos or Tableau and have strong SQL skills.
Work hours will be Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
2. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Retirement Technology Insights & Analytics team to gain a sound understanding of the project's goals and requirements.
Design CIO Dashboard with guidance from team and stakeholders.
Develop prototype for review with CIO.
Use SQL to extract data from multiple sources and manipulate data into useable formats.
Develop production-ready dashboard.
During user testing, use SQL to extract data to support result validation. Fix any defects found during testing.
Work independently, show creativity and a commitment to obtain the results required.
Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
Manage and deliver dashboard and provide appropriate responses and weekly updates on progress to team lead, team and stakeholders.
Perform other duties as required.
3. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS in Data Analytics, info systems, info management, computer science
3-5 years relevant experience in Business/Data Analysis
Highly proficient in data analysis tools and business intelligence applications such as Tableau and Cognos
Experience writing SQL queries
Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and work collaboratively.
Proven ability to work well with technical and non-technical staff across numerous areas.
Comfortable learning new technologies rapidly.
Consistent problem-solving ability with acute attention to detail and sharp analytical skills
Must be able to clearly document functional requirements and technical solutions.
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proven ability to learn and adapt to change quickly and easily and to motivate others to do likewise.
Team player with a positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
Someone who takes a proactive approach to problem solving.
Ability to work in a challenging environment handling issues in a calm, professional manner.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
