Summary:
Performs a variety of routine, clerical, receptionist, and record keeping duties with the Human Resources department.

Essential Functions:
Promptly greets all employees, managers and visitors to the human resources department in a positive and customer focused manner.
Types and sends out employee performance appraisals under the direction of the HR Coordinator as requested.
Maintains organized, complete and up to date filing.
Processes all information to complete the hiring process in a timely manner including new hire paperwork, background checks and SAM checks.
Assists in the completion of references of potential employees. Completes critiques of employee personnel files for consideration for another position in the medical center.
Orders and maintains all supplies for the HR department.
Schedules and participates in candidate screening interviews as requested.
Distributes forms and other requests to employees when requested.
Conducts licensure verification's for all licensed employees prior to expiration. Notifies management and human resource staff of expirations.
Completes employment verification's received from all sources in a timely manner.
Types correspondence and completes various form letters for HR staff. (Example: No thanks you letters, postings, etc.).
Keys data in to the HRIS system as instructed by the HR staff.
Ensures accurate and prompt payment of insurance companies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of general office equipment. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software skills are required. This candidate must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of the HR department.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
A high school graduate or equivalent is required. Vocational training or 2-3 years previous secretarial experience is a must. An Associate's Degree in Business is preferred. Excellent public relations and communication skills required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
