We are currently seeking a Maintenance Reliability Manager for our corrugated box facility in Madera, California.
The Reliability Manager is responsible for the long range planning and development of strategy for capital projects and reliability process improvement plans for the facility. This role reports to the Director of Operations. The Reliability Manager oversees and is responsible for improving the facility's manufacturing performance by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance through improved equipment reliability and managing an effective preventative maintenance program. Productivity improvements are also expected as a result of utilizing process tools and knowledge of system capability. Enforcing a safe work environment and ensuring maintenance personnel are practicing best safe work practices. Managing, developing, and assessing the performance of 10
maintenance employees, supervisors and materials inventory personnel. Working with operations leaders to ensure equipment/asset availability that will best meet customer requirements. Direction of the supervision of all plant maintenance functions involving equipment, buildings, systems and grounds to include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding. Reliability Manager must evaluate reliability gaps in the organization. Developing and implementing a predictive and preventative maintenance strategy. Prioritizing work orders for maximum value creation and machine up-time is essential.
Specifically, the program focuses on value creation measured by improved equipment reliability to maximize manufacturing productivity. Also, the ideal candidate will have proven leadership, Interpersonal ability, communication skills (verbal and written), planning, and organizational skills; as well as time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills Performing behavior based safety observations for the entire plant on a weekly basis
Create and articulate a vision that is in line with the plants overall vision and to help achieve a future state
Responsibilities include:
o Evaluate reliability gaps in organization
o Develop and implement plans to improve overall maintenance cost by reduction of downtime and implementation of equipment upgrades/fixes.
o Track and report on capital and reliability improvement trends.
o Evaluate effectiveness of capital projects & use this evaluation to optimize equipment capabilities to improve capital process.
o Maintain and secure all plant assets which include all buildings and grounds.
Primary Duties:
o Managing, developing and holding a staff of maintenance technicians and a maintenance supervisor accountable for their safety and performance; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results on a daily basis
o Working with operations leaders to ensure that the equipment meets required specifications
o Directing the supervision of all plant maintenance functions involving equipment, buildings, systems and grounds to include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding
o Takes ownership of the results of the people, processes, and equipment that impact the reliability of the operation while fully utilizing the maintenance resources
o Developing and implementing a predictive and preventive maintenance strategy to include operator basic care; directing weekend repairs and/or maintenance projects
o Engaging with crews and supervisors on a weekly basis, within each department, to ensure that each department is focusing on the performance of the people, processes and equipment
o Prioritizing work orders for maximum value creation and machine up-time
Assessing and improving talent in the maintenance department
o Use and knowledge of CMMS-Computerized maintenance management system
o Managing and documenting training for the entire maintenance staff to meet all safety and compliance requirements.
o Managing of a budget and accountability of equipment parts inventory
Technical, electrical, and mechanical skills capable of assessing machine conditions
o Developing cohesive teams between the operations and maintenance groups to improve reliability
o Deep diving and analysis of downtime for each capital asset to include the facility
o Use of analytical thinking, problem solution and root cause analysis skills throughout the performance of duties
Basic
Qualifications:
o High school diploma or GED
o Ability to work extended hours weekends and holidays when needed
o A minimum of 5 years of experience in and industrial/manufacturing environment
o A minimum of 3 years Management or Supervisory experience within industrial/manufacturing environment
o Technical, electrical and mechanical skills capable of assessing machine conditions
o Experience using Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance tools
o Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
o Experience with maintenance engineering concepts such as planning & scheduling, preventive & predictive maintenance, project check-out & start-ups, overhauls, and mechanical integrity
o Experience managing a budget and equipment parts inventory and controls
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
o A minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment as a Reliability Manager or equivalent
o Programming Logic Controller (PLC) experience
o Experience in Capital Budgeting; capital project management; as well as the experience with budgeting for the maintenance department
o Experience within the corrugated packaging, folding carton, paper, or containerboard industries
o Experience with CMMS-Computerized maintenance management systems
