Small, stable and well regarded Wheaton law firm has an opening for a bookkeeper / billing clerk (30-40 hours per week with some flexibility on the schedule). The selected individual will have perform general bookkeeping duties and create accurate time and billing invoices for clients. Strong QuickBooks knowledge, computer skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Overview:
Responsible for accurate tracking and creation of client billing
Bookkeeping responsibilities
Accounts receivable including posting payments and collections as necessary, implementing payment plans
Accounts payable including generating checks
Generate and file monthly tax returns electronically
Credit card reconciliation
Payroll - input information and initiate transmission to Intuit
Update the customer contact information database
Update staff regarding the status of client billing, receivables and other accounting information
Reconciliations, create financial statements and perform account analysis
Create and send letters to clients' regarding billing, retainers, updates, etc.

Requirements:

Associate's Degree in accounting
3
Years Bookkeeping or Staff Accounting experience, preferably with some law firm experience
Tax filing experience for a small employer, payroll and financial reporting experience
Quickbooks, Excel and Word skills
Law Firm Billing and Accounting experience preferred - other professional services firm time and expense billing experience will be considered
Record retention requirement knowledge
Intelligent, detail oriented, dedicated and professional individual interested in working as an integral part of our small law firm team
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
